Cacao & Cardamom Recognized Among Best Chocolatiers with Seven International Chocolate Americas Awards
Houston-based chocolatier takes home the most awards in global Americas competition, receiving three gold and four silver awards for their unique chocolate bon-bons.
HOUSTON, Texas, (Sept. 25, 2018) -- Cacao & Cardamom, a gourmet chocolate boutique inspired by ingredients and spices from around the world to bring a new twist to chocolate, topped this year’s International Chocolate Americas competition earning seven awards for their hand-made, hand-painted, chocolate bon-bons.
The Houston-native chocolatier was awarded three gold and four silver awards for their signature ganaches and caramels, including:
Mango Caramel - Milk chocolate enrobed caramels, Gold
Passionfruit - White chocolate ganaches or truffles, Gold
Oregano Caramel - Dark chocolate enrobed caramels, Gold
Black Sesame Ginger - Flavoured dark chocolate ganaches or truffles, Silver
Cardamom Rose - Ganaches or truffles using mixed dark/milk/white for coating and fillings, Silver
Raspberry Pistachio - Ganaches or truffles using mixed dark/milk/white for coating and fillings, Silver
Five Spice Praline - Nut based pralines with milk chocolate, Silver
The International Chocolate Awards recognizes the hard work and craft that goes into creating fine chocolate products and is established as a coveted honor for chocolatiers, seeing a record number of participants with over 800 entries from 16 different countries from North and Latin America. Cacao & Cardamom will move on to the World Final competition to take place in Florence, Italy at the end of October.

Cacao & Cardamom was founded in 2014 as a self-taught chocolatier running out of a home kitchen to celebrating the grand opening of their second store this Saturday, September 29, in Houston, Texas with a boutique farmer’s market. The first-ever Cacao & Friends Farmer’s Market highlights the local businesses used in the chocolatier’s newest chocolate flavors, the HOUSTON collection, as well as provides guests a first look at the 5-foot, golden-plated, chocolate fountain, pouring dark and caramelized white chocolate. **Update November 18: Cacao & Cardamom's Passionfruit and Five Spice Praline placed Silver in the 2018 World Final which was judged in Florence Italy October 26-November 2, 2018.
